Join us for panel discussions on issues that will be facing the legislature this year that impact our diverse communities. Learn who the ‘go-to’ experts are on these issues, including doctors and community organizations. We will help illuminate emerging health issues and provide contacts for building community support for solutions to improve our health.
Topics for the briefing will include:
- Budget woes – how will potential budget cuts impact communities of color? This panel will focus on how cuts to Medi-Cal will decrease access to care for some of our most vulnerable populations.
- Creating healthy communities – gain more information about the intersection of ‘health and place’ and Health Impact Assessments, a promising new tool to address health disparities.
- Data and surveillance – learn about the importance of data collection in identifying and addressing disparities in our health system.
Participants will include representatives from CPEHN’s ethnic partner organizations, the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum, the California Black Health Network, the California Rural Indian Health Board, and the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California.
