Equity and the ACA: Expanding Access to Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services
_____________________________________________________________
ABOUT THE WEBINAR
Of the over 2 million Californians with mental health needs, more than half report not receiving mental health treatment. Increased services through the ACA such as depression screening and prescription drugs will provide much needed access for communities of color.
Neal Adams, MD, Deputy Director of the California Institute of Mental Health, will provide an overview of available mental health and substance abuse services through the ACA, including what's covered through the mental health and substance abuse category of the state's Essential Health Benefits package. Dr. Adams will also provide next steps for advocacy on the federal and state levels.
